Prevention of Sexual Harassment

Prevention of Sexual Harassment

POSH stands for Prevention of Sexual Harassment, which refers to the legal framework and measures in place to prevent and address sexual harassment in the workplace. Sexual harassment is a form of gender-based discrimination that involves unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature that creates a hostile or offensive work environment. In many countries, including India, there are laws and regulations that require employers to implement policies and procedures to prevent and address sexual harassment at the workplace. Organizations are required to establish Internal Complaints Committees (ICC) or Local Complaints Committees (LCC) to receive, investigate, and address complaints of sexual harassment. Training programs focused on POSH aim to create awareness, understanding, and compliance with these legal requirements, as well as promote a safe and respectful work environment.
